Maude Bass-Krueger
Maude Bass-Krueger is professor at the Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies department at Ghent University whose research focuses on fashion history and fashion curation. She is the co-founder of two national fashion studies research groups: Revers, established at Ghent University in 2021, and Culture(s) de Mode, established in 2017, in Paris. Since joining Ghent University in January 2020, she has worked towards creating a thriving environment for fashion history, fashion theory, and fashion studies in Belgium. The project “Fashioning Belgium, 1830-1980” is an ongoing research project with her Master’s students that aligns with a FED-tWIN collaborative grant with the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels.

Liza Foley
Liza Foley is a Curator and Assistant Professor at Ghent University and the Royal Museum of Art and History as part of the FED-tWIN project ‘The Fashion and Textiles Collection at the RMAH (FATEX - Prf-2022-013). Her research focuses on the interrelationship between humans, animals and materials, with a particular emphasis on leather. She is currently developing a broader research agenda on fashion and animals, exploring the role of animal-based materials within the context of dress history and material culture studies. Prior to joining Ghent University in 2024, she worked as an Assistant Curator and Lecturer across various art and design institutions in Ireland.
